Here we have provided some of our most commonly asked inquiries. Hopefully these questions will provide you with all the answers and information you need. If they do not, feel free to contact us. Send us an e-mail or call us with whatever other information you need and we will be happy to help you.
A: Most house moves fall in the range of $10,000.00 -15,000.00. However, the cost to move a home is calculated by using the size of the home as well as the distance it needs to be transported (houses usually cannot be transported along the most direct route due to permit limitations and feasibility issues). Additional costs that may be part of your house move are assistance charges from utility companies (i.e. power companies, phone companies, Railway companies, etc.). These costs vary according to the amount of work that is required by the assisting company. Each prospective house move is assessed by one of our estimators before a written estimate is provided.
A: No. We will take care of all those arrangements for you.
A: Standard preparation for your house move is as follows:
• All disconnections, from the building, must be done prior to the start of the project (power, phone, cable/satellite,
plumbing, etc.).
• There must be adequate access for trucks and equipment around all sides of the building that is being moved. This may include trimming or cutting down trees.
• Your approach must be wide enough to take your house on/off the property (this may include trimming or cutting down trees). We require all approaches to be a minimum of 25 feet across the top.
• All basements (including wood) must be backfilled to within 4 feet from the top of the basement.
◦ Wood basements must be properly braced prior to the house move.
◦ The center beam must be installed prior to the house move.
A: The actual house move (loading-driving-unloading) generally takes from 1-3 days (out of province moves may take longer) depending on how far your house is being moved. However the entire process of moving your house (starting from the time you confirm your move with us) must start a minimum of 3 weeks before you wish to have your house moved. This allows time for the necessary permits to be obtained. This also gives us time to do a proper project assessment to ensure that you will receive the highest quality service possible.
